Sri Penusila Narasimha Wildlife Sanctuary

Sri Penusila Narasimha Wildlife Sanctuary is a protected area, located in the Nellore District of Andhra Pradesh. It covers an area of around 1030.85 kilometres square and managed by the Andhra Pradesh Forest Department. The sanctuary comprises a unique and endangered forest type viz. The ideal time to visit the sanctuary is during winter season as the weather remains pleasant.

Dominant Flora

The vegeation of the sanctuary consists of dry evergreen forest type with species like Accacias, Cassias, Pongamia and Carissa.

Dominant Fauna

Mammals: Panther, Cheetal, Nilgai, Chowsingha, Sloth Bear, Jackal, Wild Boar and many more.

Birds: Different varieties of bird species are found here.

Reptiles: A large number of reptiles can be spotted here.

Best time to visit

The ideal time to visit the sanctuary is during winter season as the weather remains pleasant.
