Some of the major festivals celebrated in Puri are:

• Puri Rath Yatra – A Hindu festival associated with Lord Jagannath, celebrated in the popular Jagannath temple each year.
• Chandan Yatra – A 12-day temple festival dedicated to Lord Jagannath, celebrated in April-May.
• Navaratri and Dussehra – A 10-day festival where Goddess Durga, the destroyer of evil, is worshipped (also known as Durga Puja); generally, in October.
• Ganesh Chaturthi – A major Hindu festival dedicated to Lord Ganesha.
