Bastar Dussehra

Bastar Dussehra is a festival, celebrated by the local people of Chhattisgarh. The festival connotes to the supreme power of goddess Danteswari. During the festival, the inhabitants of Bastar organizes special worship ceremonies at the Danteswari temple of Jagadalpur. The festival is believed to have initiated by Maharaja Purushaottam Deo in the early hours of 15th century. During the entire ten days of the festival, the respected Raj family of Bastar region arrange worship sessions in which the ancient arms of the Goddess Danteswari are treated as divine elements.
