Elephant Falls

Elephant Falls is a waterfall, located in Shillong, in the Indian state of Meghalaya. It is a two-tier waterfall, named after an Elephant like stone at its foot. The falls were called as 'Ka Kshaid Lai Pateng Khohsiew' by the local Khasi people, which means 'The Three Step Waterfalls', as these falls consist of three mesmerising falls. It is one of the tourist attraction and the most visited falls in Meghalaya. The best time to visit Elephant Falls is after the monsoon as the water flow is at its peak. There are few places to visit near the waterfall, Shillong Peak, Umiam Lake, Police Bazar are some of them.
