Situated in the vicinity of the Mahabodhi Temple in Bodhgaya, Bihar, the Prachin Bharat Multimedia Museum is one of the most important museums in Bodhgaya and one of the most popular tourist attractions in Bodh Gaya, Bihar. Established with a view to provide an insight into the life of Gautam Buddh, the museum enlightens its visitors with an interesting assortment of exhibits and visual presentation. The museum organizes animated audio-visuals and animated presentations to inform the visitors about the history of Mahabodhi Temple since its inception by Emperor Ashoka and how by time it started decaying. The video also tells the visitors about the Sri Lankan pilgrim who by himself seized control of the temple from the Shaivite priests and gave the temple a new life.

The whole show covers four different sections dedicated to distinct things such as – 3D animations, historical background, geographical coverage, and views of Lord Buddha. You will also be informed about Prince Siddhartha’s ascent into Nirvana, about his first sermon, his journeys, and at last his demise in Kushinagar. The Eight-Fold Path and the Middle Path are brought to life through these interesting animated snippets. The show also comprises of contents about his teachings which is presented to the audience in the form of multimedia and 3D animation movies. The museum is an ideal place for anyone to grasp the vastness of Buddhism and learn about its calm founder who lives in the lives of millions across the world.
