soreng hill station

Soreng is a town in the Indian state of Sikkim. The town is approximately 45 kilometres away from Darjeeling and 102 kilometres from the capital city Gangtok. It is mainly known for its largest production of vegetables, oranges and flowers. The majority of the people are Hindu and Buddhist, while the rest are Christians. Soreng is close to Daramdin and serves as an Ecotourism spot, attracting thousands of people every year. The economy of the town is mostly dependent on agriculture, floriculture, Rainbow Trout farming and tourism. The town is also famous for it beautiful landscapes, fisheries, views of Mount Kangchenjunga, flora and fauna, and white river rafting on the Teesta river.
