Hindupur is a city in the Andhra Pradesh state of India's Sri Sathya Sai district. The largest parliamentary district in Sri Sathya Sai's newly created district is Hindupur.City of Gold The Andhra Pradesh town of Hindupur, which bears the name of the Maratha monarch Hindoji Rao, is renowned for producing iron, sugar, jaggery, precious gems like rubies and sapphires, as well as sugar, andjaggery.

  • Lepakshi temple : Lepakshi is listed in the Skandhapuranam as one of India's 108 Saiva temples. The Lord Veerabhadhra Temple at Lepakshi was built in the 16th century by Sri Virupanna, a Treasury Officer for the Penukonda Fort of the Vijayanagara Empire. The remains of Lepakshi contain architectural examples of the late Vijayanagara period. It was constructed in the year 1530 and is renowned for having a sizable dancing hall with 100 pillars and magnificent sculptures. There is a life-size granite sculpture of Veerabhadra, a huge monolith of Nandi, as well as sculptures of the Naga Linga, flying Gandharvas, Ganesha, etc. Every Monday, special pujas are performed.

  • Penukonda fort : This massive hill fort with seven bastions is located 60 kilometers from Ananthapur and was constructed during the era of the Vijayanagara emperors. The Summer Palace, the Gagan Mahal, a British-built munsiff court, and the Bhogasamudaram, a sizable lake that served as a public bathing area, are some of the impressive sites in this region.

  • Veerabhadra temple : The temple is a stunning example of Vijayanagara architecture and art, and the Vishwakarma Brahmin artists who sculpted it created a masterpiece. This rests atop a mount and was constructed in the sixteenth century. Veerabhadra is the presiding deity. In the numerous mandapams of the beautiful shrine, there is a treasure of superb sculpture. Life-size sculptures of dancers, musicians, and other figures are carved onto pillars in one mandapam by the artisans of the Vijayanagar kingdom. The enormous granite Nandi bull is sculpted from a single block of stone. Mural paintings on the ceilings are simply amazing.

  • Kadiri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple: With a few exceptions, all of the inscriptions in the temple are in Telugu and pertain to the Vijayanagara era. A Nayaka during the reign of Bukka-I, Saka 1274 (1332 AD), is when the temple was constructed, according to an inscription on the south wall of Arthamantapuram. The following year, according to another inscription, Gopanna, an official under KempannaOdeyar, who refurbished the Srirangam temple and was a contemporary of Vedanta Desikar, gave the deity a jewel. Gopanna was a man. An inscription on a stone slab mentions this still-practiced ritual. Another inscription states that the Vasantamandapam next to the prakaram, now known as the thousand-pillar mandapam, where food is given, was built in the Salivahana Saka 1451 (1529 A.D.) by the palegar of Tadipatri. The BrahmandaPuranam'sKhadriSthalapuranam has extensive descriptions of the temple's historical history, magnificence, and significance.
