Situated in Jew Town in Mattancherry and inaugurated in 2010, the International Tourism Police Station and Police Museum in Kochi, Kerala, is one of its kind museums in India that is dedicated to tourists and the services offered by the tourism police to the tourists. The police station is established solely for providing services and facilities to the tourists in Kochi and also houses a museum in its premises that showcases various exhibits related to tourist police and their functions.
Foreign passengers as well as domestic tourists can visit the Tourist Police Station to solve their queries about passports and visas, file complaints and grievances, and report any missing things. Tourists can also visit the station to get route maps and booklets for several tourist spots from here.The exhibits that make up the Tourist Police Museum include several weaponry, arms, and police uniforms, swords used by the police, police hats, and different medals that take the visitors to the journey of Kerala’s police force, from the era of Travancore Kings to the present.Several mannequins of police officers are also placed in the museum to enhance its look and setting.
