Kharchi Puja is a Hindu festival, celebrated in Tripura. It is a week-long royal Puja which involves the worship of the fourteen gods forming the dynasty deity of the Tripuri people. It falls within the month of July on the eighth day of the phase of the moon and attracts thousands of devotees. Kharchi Puja is largely done to worship the world, it is performed to clean out the sins and to wash the post-menstrual phase of Mother Earth's menstruation. During the puja, The gods are bathed within the water and are brought back to the temple. People offer sweets, along with the meat to God. The festival is attended by a large numbers of individuals and offerings like Goat, Buffalo, Sweets, are also done.
