Adoni

The city of Adoni is located in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh. Adoni, the 16th most populated city in the state, had 166,537 residents as per the 2011 India Census. In its urban agglomeration, there were 184,771 people. The history of the town revolves around the Adoni fort.Adoni is a significant trading hub in Andhra Pradesh, and the town's main market is located there. Some of the famous landmarks in the city are the old Adoni Fort and the ShahiJamia Masjid, which SiddiMasud erected in 1660.

  • Adoni fort : Adonia municipality, mandal headquarters, and commercial town in Andhra Pradesh's Kurnool district. The now-ruined Adoni fort was an important centre of authority in Islamic times and is frequently mentioned in 18th-century battles. These royal fort ruins date back to the medieval kingdom of Vijayanagar, which flourished during the 14th and 16th centuries. Here are several Persian and Arabic inscriptions that provide light on various historical topics. The Jamma Masjid is a beautiful specimen of Muslim architecture housed within the fort. MaduQadiri, an Adil Shahi governor, constructed it around 1680 AD.
  • Ranmandala Hill : Ranmandala Hill, which houses the Lord Hanuman Temple, is the city's most well-known landmark. The nearby Ramjala Lake is important in Hindu mythology, and it is said that the lake was produced by an arrow thrown into the ground by Rama in order to supply water for the goddess Sita during AranyaVassa. The Tungabhadra River, a direct tributary of the lake, provides drinking water for the town and also acts as a tourist attraction with its wonderful water birds. With a rich cultural heritage, the city's physical landscape exhibits distinct Hindu influences spanning millennia.
  • Shahi Jamia Masjid : India's Shahi Jamia Masjid is located in Adoni. A remnant of architectural and cultural history is the mosque. This historic place is open to visitors of all ages and religions, and photography is permitted. It is located in the center of town, close to the market, which is a hub of activity in Adoni. This masjid is thought to have been constructed by Siddi Masood Khan, who served as the Governor of Adoni under the rule of Bijapur Sultan. Masood Khan paid 77,000 dinars for the land from Mohammed ShahnazNamia, and he spent a total of 2,000,000 dinars to finish the masjid's construction. Iranian engineers led by Malli Sandal served as the mosque's architects. Ayats from the Holy Quran and information about the masjid are written in Arabic and Persian on 15 black slabs that can be located on the front side of the building. Additionally, there are hadiths. The mosque's left and right minarets have chains that add to its splendor. The unique feature of this mosque is that it is located in the same area as the Kaaba in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
  • Ranamandala Anjaneya Swamy Temple : It takes roughly 600 stairs to get to the summit of the hill where the RanamandalaAnjaneyaSwamy Temple is located. Since there are no gates or other barriers preventing people from getting to the enormous and potent Hanuman, there are no set hours for the temple. RanamandalaAnjanaswamy was given this name by Shri VyasaThirtha, a revered Vedic scholar who built the idol of Shri Hanuman here.
  • Kota Sri VenkataramanaSwamy Temple : Lord Shiva’s Kota sri Venkatramana swamy temple was located in Adoni. Old and very devout people are everywhere, and every Shivarathri.Temple celebrates a special Pooja at night and in the morning while also providing meals to all visitors.
  • Ramjala Lake : Ramjala Lake is situated in Kurnool District close to Adoni Town. Adoni is accessible by rail and bus, and the cities of Kurnool (75 km), Anantapur (170 km), and Ballary (75 km) are close by. In the Andhra Pradesh town of Adoni sits Ramjala Lake. A park is placed close to the lake. In that park, kids go to play. A lovely picnic location where you can spend time with your family or friends. The lakeside route is ideal for morning or evening strolls.
