INTRODUCTION

Andaman and Nicobar Islands is a union territory in India. It consists of 572 islands, out of which only 38 are inhabited. Port Blair is the capital city of the territory.

The islands in Andaman and Nicobar are famous for their palm-lined, white-sand beaches, mangroves and tropical rainforests.

Andaman & Nicobar Island has an active volcano called Barren Island which had last erupted in 2017. It is the only volcano in India.
