To reach Calangute Beach from the capital city Panaji you can either take a bus or hire a private car. The distance from Panaji to Calangute Beach is 11km and there are buses services available throughout the day that go straight to Calangute Beach. If you hail a cab directly to Calangute Beach it will take you approx. 30-40 minutes to reach the beach.
If you are traveling by air and coming from Goa International Airport, the beach is at a distance of 40.3km from the airport. The cheapest way is to ride a bus or if you want more convenience, you can hire a private car and reach the beach within 40-minutes of time.
The best time to plan a trip to this beautiful and exquisite beach is between October to February. Though you can visit the beach at any given time of the year, these are the ideal months as they fall after monsoon and before summer and the weather is just perfect. The summer months are scorching and humid and thus not advantageous for lounging on the beach during the day. Furthermore, the monsoons have heavy rainfall and the water tides become unruly and unsafe to do any water sports.
