Dawaipani is a small village with only 135 to 150 houses, located just 20 km away from the heart of Darjeeling town. It is an offbeat village that attracts nature-loving tourists. Dawaipani means "Medical water", which got it's name from surrounding river named "khola". Being an offbeat destination, Tourists gets only one option for accomodation that is homestay. The homestays offer most of the amenities like western bathroom, delicious food, 24 hours electricity and much more. Dawaipani can be visited throughout the year but due to the frequent landslide, visiting during monsoon should be avoided.
