ghum hill station

Ghum is a small hilly region, situated at an altitude of 2,258 metres in Darjeeling in the Indian state of West Bengal. It comes under ward number one of the Darjeeling Municipality. The railway station in Ghum, named Ghum railway station is the highest railway station in India, Beside the railway station, there is DHR Ghum museum which is a must visit place especially for railway enthusiasts. It is home to Ghum Monastery and the Batasia Loop. The Batasia Loop is a railway loop where the train makes a 360 degree turn to negotiate an elevation of 140 feet, offering a breathtaking view of Mt. Kanchenjunga which is known to be the world's 3rd highest mountain peak.
