Gyalshing is the capital of West Sikkim District in Sikkim. It is one of the tourist attractions in West Sikkim District, which is easily accessible from all the places of India. Gyalshing has a large Nepali population, and the Nepali language is the predominant language of the region. It is famous for its ancient Buddhist monasteries. Some of them are Rabdentse monastery, Pemayangtse Monastery and many more. The town has a number of English medium schools including a convent school and a major hospital, along with some three star hotels. One of the hotels, named, The TashiGang hotel is owned by the Bollywood actor Danny Denzongpa.
