Jorpokhri is a small lake village on a hilltop in Darjeeling district. The name of this village derives from two-lakes, ‘Jor’ means two and ‘Pokhri’ means Lake. It is located just 23 kms away from fascinating Darjeeling town. The village offers a beautiful view of Mt. Kanchenjunga along with number of snowcapped ranges. Although, it can be visited throughout the year, but the best time to visit Jorpokhri is from the months of October to April. It can be reached by rail, air or by road. Bagdogra airport is the nearest airport and New Jalpaiguri is the nearest railway station. The village can also be reached from Siliguri through Kurseong and Ghoom.
