About the Museum

Gandhi Research Foundation (GRF) was inaugurated on 25th March 2012 by the then President Pratibha Patil as the promoter of ‘Gandhi Teerth’ which is supported by Jain Irrigation and Bhavarlal Kantabai Foundation. Located in Jalgaon, Maharashtra, the Gandhi research Foundation endorses ‘’Gandhi Teerth’’ which is an interlude Centre for Gandhian study, research, and dialogue. The core objective of the foundation is to preserve and encourage Gandhiji’s philosophy and his bequest based on truth, non-violence, harmonious co-existence, and the spirit of preservation.

The GRF has been working towards taking countless initiatives to not just propagate Gandhiji’s life and principles but also to preserve them for opulence. Housing a fine assortment of 7350 books, 4090 periodicals, 4019 pictures, 75 films, 148 audio recordings of Mahatma Gandhi’s speeches, and philately items from 114 countries, GRF is a one-stop destination for anyone interested in gaining a deeper insight into the life of the Father of the Nation. The foundation comprises an international research center, a historic Gandhi Museum, a grand library, and contemporary archives.

The complex houses a museum known as ‘’Khoj Gandhiji Ki’’ which is a communicative museum that uses technology and multi-media platforms to broadcast information about Gandhiji’s wisdom and thoughts along with his role in the Indian freedom struggle. The GRF complex is stunningly landscaped with well-manicured lawns and mango orchards beside it with mounded sit-outs and serene pathways. The entire complex is spreadeagled in 300 acres of lush green planted hilly terrain and offers a noise-free environment to its visitors that oozes a peaceful aura. The foundation structure is constructed under green norms in pink Jodhpuri stones to last for many decades.
