Jorhat is the district of Assam . It is situated in the central part of the Brahmaputra Valley. Jorhat acts as a gateway to upper Assam and to the state of Nagaland. In the year 1983, Jorhat was made a separate district.

Jorhat is well-known for its extensive tea gardens, and is the centre of the tea industry. The Tea Festival is held in the district of Jorhat.

There are many places that can be visited within the district. Such as Lachit Borphukan's Maidam, Raja Maidam, Jorhat Science Centre & Planetarium, Jorhat Gymkhana Club etc.
