Kalimpong district is situated in West Bengal .

It was formed on 14 February 2017, after splitting from the Darjeeling district .

The district is surrounded by East Sikkim district , Bhutan , Darjeeling district , South Sikkim district and Jalpaiguri district in the in the North & North East,in the East,in the West and South West,in the North West , South and South East.
