The stunning Laxmi Vilas Palace was built in 1890 and took nearly a decade to finish. It is still home to the Vadodara royal family, the Gaekwads, and sprawls across an area of around 700 acres. It is constructed in the Indo-Saracenic style, which is a fusion of Hindu, Gothic, and Mughal architectural forms with domes, minarets, and arches.The museum was built primarily as a school for the Maharaja's children. It now holds an exceptional collection of paintings by Raja Ravi Verma as well as numerous other artifacts collected from all around the world. : Kabirvad is a small island in Gujarat's Bharuch district that is said to have been Saint Kabir's abode many hundred years ago.
