HarGauri Temple : The HarGauri Temple can be found in Thakurganj Block. This temple is said to be at least 100 years old. It celebrated its Golden Jubilee Year in 2000. The Zamindar of Tagore Estate constructed this temple. According to legend, the Zamindar discovered Mahadev and Parvatiâ€™s statues linked together in one stone. He brought the statue to Benaras, but one night he dreamed that Lord Mahadeva told him to return the monument to its original location and build a temple there. The Zamindar became so terrified that he returned the next day and had the temple built. Every year on the occasion of Shiv Ratri, people travel long distances to worship and offer holy water to the Shivling here.
