Dudhwa Tiger Reserve

Dudhwa Tiger Reserve is a tiger reserve, located in Uttar Pradesh. It is spread over an area of 1284.3 kilometres square and includes three large forest fragments amidst the matrix dominated by agriculture. The reserve lies at an altitude ranging from 361 feet to 607 feet above mean sea level and shares the north-eastern boundary with Nepal. The ideal time to visit the place is during the months of November to May. Tourists visiting the reserve have the option of booking a Jeep Safari, which operates from 6am to 9am in the morning and from 4pm to 7pm in the evening.

Dominant Flora

The vegetation of the tiger reserve consists of the Moist Deciduous type, containing some of the finest examples of Sal forests.

Dominant Fauna

Mammals: tigers, leopards, Asiatic black bears, sloth bears, Swamp deer, rhinoceros, elephants, cheetal, hog deer, barking deer, sambar, wild boar, hispid hare.

Birds: Hornbill, Red Jungle Fowl, Pea fowl, Bengal Florican, Fishing eagle, Serpent eagle, Osprey, Woodpeckers, Shama, Indian Pitta, Paradise flycatcher, Orioles, Emerald dove.

Reptiles: Monitor lizard, Turtles, Python, Mugger, Gharial and many more.

Best time to visit

The ideal time to visit the place is during the months of November to May.
