Kaziranga Tiger Reserve

Kaziranga Tiger Reserve is located in the flood plain of the Brahmaputra River, spread across the civil districts of Golaghat, Nagaon and Sonitpur. The Tiger Reserve covers a total area of 1055 square kilometre. It has the largest population of tigers in the North East. Around 125 tigers have been recorded. till now. Kaziranga Tiger Reserve is home to over 550 plant species including Bombax ceiba, Albizzia procera, Albizzia odorotissima, Albizzia lucida, Careya arborea, Premna latifolia, while, many endangered and threatened mammal species like Rhino, Tiger, Eastern swamp deer, Elephant, Buffalo, Hoolock gibbon, Capped langur and Gangetic river dolphin can also be found here.
