Kailadevi Wildlife Sanctuary

Kailadevi Wildlife Sanctuary is a wildlife sanctuary, located in the Karauli district of Rajasthan and falls within the Karauli and Sapotra blocks. It covers a total area of 674 kilometer square. The sanctuary is the northern extension of the Ranthamboree National Park and falls within the buffer zone of the Ranthamboree Tiger Reserve. It was declared a sanctuary in the year 1983.

Dominant Flora

The vegetation of the sanctuary is of dry deciduous type with a predominance of Anogiesus Pendula.

Dominant Fauna

Mammals: Sloth Bears, Deer such as the Nilgai, Sambhar, Cheetal, Striped Hyena and Indian Porcupine.

Birds: Several species of birds are found here.

The ideal time to explore Kailadevi Wildlife Sanctuary is from the months of September to March.
