Pilibhit Tiger Reserve is a tiger reserve, located in the Pilibhit district of Uttar Pradesh. It was declared as the 46th tiger reserve on June 2014, earlier it was used to be a timber yielding reserve forest. The reserve got its first International award TX2 for doubling the tiger population in a stipulated time. The reserve is also the catchment of several rivers like Sharda, Chuka and Mala, Khannot. Tourists visiting the tiger reserve have the option to choose jungle safari to get an opportunity to spot the tiger, explore the wildlife and enjoy the rich flora and fauna. The ideal time to visit the place is during the month of November.
The vegetation of the tiger reserve consists of the North Indian moist deciduous type, having the finest sal Shorea robusta forests of the country, along with 2,100 flowering plants.
Mammals: Bengal tiger, leopard, fishing cat, leopard cat, swamp deer, spotted deer, hog deer, barking deer, blackbuck, sambar, sloth bear, fox, short-nosed fruit bat, Indian common yellow bat, painted bat, rhesus macaque, common langur, porcupine, small Indian civet, jackal, Indian fox, hyena, rattle.
Birds: darter, lesser whistling duck, combed duck, grey partridge, black partridge swamp partridge, peafowl, red jungle fowl, cormorants, egrets, herons, hornbill, eagle, Saras crane.
Reptiles: Lizards, several species of Snakes, Mugger Crocodile and Gharial.
The reserve remains open from September to mid-June. After mid-June, the temperature starts getting too hot and unbearable hence, it makes uncomfortable for visitors to enjoy jungle safari. The ideal time to visit is the month of November.

Nearest Airport: The nearest airport is at Lucknow, located at a distance of 250 km.
Road Accessibility : The reserve is well connected with Bareilly and Nainital. Bus and cabs can be taken to reach the reserve.
