Soochipara Falls, also called Sentinel Rock Waterfalls, is a waterfall, located in Vellarimala, Wayanad. It is a three-tiered waterfall surrounded by deciduous, evergreen and montane forests. It is 200 metres high. The waterfall forms a large pool, where one can enjoy swimming and bathing in it. The name of the waterfall has been derived from two words- soochi meaning 'rock' and para meaning 'needle'. The rocks present here are in the form of a needle. The best time to visit Soochipara Falls is during the monsoon season as the waterfall is dry during the summers and closed for tourists from March to June. There are many places to visit near the waterfall, Chembra, Edakkal Caves, and Heritage museum ambalavayal are some of them.
