Rayadurga is a Town in the Anantapur District of Andhra Pradesh. It is governed by a municipal council. Rayadurgatown is famous for its production of Textile goods and the textile manufacturing industry. Rayadurga is now slowly developing with proper transportation and modern comforts.Rayadurgam municipality is a civic body of the town and was constituted on 1stOctober 1963. Rayadurgam municipality is classified as a 2nd-grade municipality and its jurisdiction of the civic body is spread over a total area of 50 km2 with 31 election wards.Telugu is the official language ofRayadurga Town and Kannada and Urdu are also broadly spoken in this place.

It is in Southern India about 451.6 km from Hyderabad.Rayadurgamtown is well connected with other cities of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka through the good infrastructure of NH 544DD Highway. The nearest airport to the town is Ballari Airport in Karnataka followed by Kurnool, Puttaparthi, and Bengaluru. Rayadurga also has a train station with major stations nearby such as Guntakal,Ballari, Anantapur&Gooty. The town is occupied with a total area of 49.73 km2.

  • Rayadurg Fort : Rayadurg Fort is a medieval period fortress built in the town of Rayadurgam in the Anantapur district.Rayadurg Fort is also called Rayadurgam Fort. As per the historians the head of Vijayanagar Kings,Junga Nayaka founded theRayadurgam Fort.The fort consists of many layers of internal forts which made it impassable from the attacks ofenemies. The fort was later defeated by Tipu Sultan and added to the Gooty Province. The Rayadurgam Fort is a magnificent place to visit that depicts the culture and tradition of the Vijaynagara Dynasty.The Rayadurg Fort campus has many temples including Hanuman Temple,NarashimhaswamyTemple, and ElammaTemple. The locals visit these temples frequently and are very popular among tourists also. The Fort is one of the most famous tourist attractions places in the town and nearby places.
  • Dasabhuja Ganapathi : Dasabhuja Ganapathiis a beautiful temple located near the Rayadug Fort. The temple is devoted to Lord Ganapathi and as the name depicts the idol installed in the temple is of Lord Ganapathi having ten hands. The idol carved out of a 4 m high monolith stone is perfect proof of the old sculpture ‘Shilpakala’. There are many other temples near the Dasabhuja Ganapathi located on the Rayadurg Fort campus like Ellamma Temple, Lord Hanuman Temple, Jambukeswara Temple, Prasanna Venkateswara Temple,Veerabhadra Temple, Kanyakaparameswari Temple, and Venugopala Swamy Temple. Visiting hours for the Dasabhuja Ganapathi Temple are from morning6:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and evening 4:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
