West Godavari district, also known as Paschima Godavari Jilla is a district in the Coastal Andhra region of Andhra Pradesh.

The rivers in the district generally flow from west to east. Godavari, Yerrakaluva and Tammileru are the three rivers which cut through the Godavari district.

The district experiences very hot and dry summer while the winters are pleasant. The best time to visit the place is during the rainy season as fields are green with paddy crops, rivers flowing with monsoon water, and a relatively cool climate.
