The legend according to the local populace is that Nag Tibba is the dwelling of ‘Nag Devta’, a Hindu mythological character signifying the lord of snakes and is revered by the devotees. Local villagers come here often to offer prayers and seek blessings fromNag Devta for the protection of their cattle.

Difficulty Level
Nag Tibba trek is not difficult at all and is beginner-friendly which can be done within 5-6 hours from the base. It is called as a weekend trek because the elevation is not very high and the trekking is not tough, which can be done by beginners as well in just a weekend.
The weather conditions during summers remain moderate with mild swift cold winds grazing your skin. During the day the temperature here is around 8 degrees to 20 degrees Celsius during summers and at night it comes down to 5 to 8 degrees Celsius which is not very bad either. During winters, the temperature remains 3-5 degrees during day and at night drops to sub-zero temperature with snow falling all around.
Nag Tibba peak doesn’t have any accommodations so you will have to trek back to the base and camp at night. Trekkers generally get their own camping equipment or are provided by the trek operators. If you come from the Devalsari or Panthwari route, then you can stay at the guest houses for which you may have to take permission from the Mussoorie Forest Officer.

There will be no food or tea stall at this altitude so you will have to keep your own food items and other related stuff. There will be some small shops in the villages at the base camp such as Devalsari or Panthwarivillage from where you can collect some snackable. If you are travelling in a group, it is better if you get a cook with you to travel or if you are going through a private trekking company then all the food and tent accommodation will be provided by them.
Nag Tibba Trekking Routes

If you want a trek with lush green meadows and dense Deodar Forest, then the months from March to May and last week of September to mid-December is a good time. If you wish to see snow-covered valley, then the months of January and February is the ideal time to visit Nag Tibba when there will be snow all around.

Make sure you make all important call once you cross Mussoorie or you can get lucky and get some signals in Devalsari or Panthwari village.
