In the southwest Solan district of Himachal Pradesh, India, is the industrial town and Nagar parishad of Baddi. About 35 kilometers to the west of Solan town, in the Shivalik Hills, is the town that sits on the Himachal Pradesh/Haryana state border.

It is located on a sizable 20-acre property with orchards, woodlands, and lushly groomed lawns. The 10 acres-large Nalagarh Fort is situated atop a hill. It has five floors and is constructed in the Mughal architectural style. Currently, the magnificent fort serves as a hotel. Raja Sansar Chand constructed the Diwan-E-Khas, the fort's meeting room, in 1618.
