Kalpetta, Kerala

In the South Indian state of Kerala's mountainous Wayanad area sits the town of Kalpetta. It serves as a starting point for hikes up Chembra Peak's lofty slopes and leads to Neelimala Viewpoint, which offers views of waterfalls and wooded valleys.
