Margao is a city in the Indian state of Goa. It is the cultural and commercial center of Goa, and it is close to the central coast. A UNDP evaluation in the early 1970s assessed the long white-sand beach stretch as potentially one of the top ten beaches in the world.

It was damaged numerous times more by the Muslim Army until the current edifice was erected in 1675. The monument is well-known for its beautiful architecture and religious importance.
